Why I'm Running

Practical Leadership for a Stronger Abilene

For the past several years, I've had the privilege of working with businesses across West Texas through my role as Director of the APEX Accelerator Program at Texas Tech University.

Every day I help businesses navigate government systems, compete for contracts, and grow their operations. My job is about solving problems, building partnerships, and helping communities become stronger economically. After moving to Abilene in 2020, I quickly came to appreciate what makes this city special — its people, its businesses, and its strong sense of community.

But I also saw challenges that I believe we can address with the right leadership and the right approach.

Our streets need serious attention. I know from my professional experience that significant federal and state funding exists for exactly these kinds of improvements — and Abilene has not fully pursued these opportunities. I believe I can change that.

I'm also passionate about the locally owned small businesses that give Abilene its character. I've spent my career helping these businesses grow and compete. The best local economies are built from the inside out — by investing in the entrepreneurs who are already here, already committed to this community.

On housing, I want to help more Abilene families move from renting to owning. Homeownership builds stability, builds equity, and makes communities stronger. There are programs available through the Housing Authority that more of our residents should be able to access.

I'm running for City Council because I believe Abilene's best days are ahead — and because I have the skills, the experience, and the commitment to help make that happen. I would be honored to earn your support.
